Hello, and welcome back to our blog here at Colorado Deck Drain Experts! If you recall from last time, we talked about some great suggestions for hosting an amazing spring party on your deck. Assuming it’s not too rainy out, spring is a great time to host an outdoor party. It’s typically nice and cool out, sometimes humid, but not too hot. If you haven’t read our first blog in this series, you can read it here. However, without further ado, here are several more tips for hosting a great spring deck party, no matter how big or small.
Food & Drinks
What’s a deck party without great food and drinks? Make sure you plan ahead to determine exactly what your guests will want. There’s nothing more frustrating than hosting a party with tons of food only to find out that everyone ate before they came over. This is especially the case if you’re hosting it at a strange time like seven or eight when most people have probably already eaten. One way to solve this issue is to ask people what kinds of food they would like whenever you send out the invitation. This way, you’ll avoid that awful situation where there’s not enough food or there’s way too much.
Maintain Your Lawn
Chances are, you’ve been so focused on preparing your deck for the party that you haven’t given much thought to your lawn. However, it’s inevitable that when your guests come over, they’re going to want to enjoy the lawn as well as your deck. If your lawn is full of patches of dead grass or dirt, make sure you call a lawn specialist to fix it up.
Prepare for the worst
When you’re hosting a deck party in the spring, there’s always a chance that you could see some rain. If you experience some heavy rain, chances are, you’re going to want to move everyone inside and save the deck party for another day. However, a small amount of rain shouldn’t stop you from enjoying your deck. Prepare your deck beforehand with umbrellas or awnings that will allow your guests to party long into the night even with a little drizzle.
Another thing you should do is ensure that your deck has a deck drain system installed. This system will move water away from your under deck area so that it can still be enjoyed through rain and shine. Contact Colorado Deck Drain Experts today to learn more.
